The World Most Powerful Supercomputer is Built By China
China is taking technology to the next level. China has recently built the fastest supercomputer in the world. According to the newly released list of the Top 500 fastest computer in the world, China is leading the list. China had created the 93 petaflop Sunway TaihuLight which is installed at the National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi
According to the reports, the supercomputer can perform around 93,000 trillion calculations per second. The China’s Taihulight is three times faster than the previous leader Tianhe-2 and the awesome part is Tianhe-2 is also from China.
 supercomputer
Sunway TaihuLight, with 10,649,600 computing cores comprising 40,960 nodes, is twice as fast and three times as efficient as Tianhe-2, which posted a LINPACK performance of 33.86 petaflop/s. The peak power consumption under load (running the HPL benchmark) is at 15.37 MW, or 6 Gflops/Watt. It runs on a Linux-based operating system.
Top500 Said “Considering that just 10 years ago, China claimed a mere 28 systems on the list, with none ranked in the top 30, the nation has come further and faster than any other country in the history of supercomputing,”
University of Southampton’s Professor Les Carr said “As a computer scientist it’s difficult writing software that can take advantage of and control large numbers of computer cores, They are like extremely high-spec Grand Prix racing cars – they are fantastic for racing on circuits but they’re not great for traveling from London to Edinburgh”
The evolution of supercomputing in China has been exponential. Top500 list did not have any Chinese system in 2001. In the list presented today by Top500, China has 167 systems, the US has 165, Japan has 29 systems, Germany was in fourth place with 26 systems, France was next with 18, followed by Britain with 12.

Will Android or Amazon win the war? Apple has won the battle

Technology is moving with a fast pace. Now your phone is not just a phone a computer device using a phone app. The ongoing move to mobile devices is causing another shift in technology: instead of running stand-alone software, we’re using apps – and those apps are usually connecting to services rather than running solo. We stream our TV and our music, play massively multiplayer online games and communicate via WhatsApp or WeChat.

Will Android or Amazon win the war? Apple has won the battle

Many of those services don’t care what platform they’re on. Netflix is Netflix whether you’re watching it on an Android tablet, an iPhone or a Smart TV. WhatsApp is identical across platforms. YouTube is YouTube on the web, on a tablet or on a connected Blu-Ray player.
When a $200 Android can deliver the same services as a $749 iPhone, you need to have something special to offer if you’re going to keep shifting expensive hardware. And when it comes to services, Apple doesn’t. Its Messages platform is Apple-only, dwarfed by the likes of WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. Its Maps are still a bit flaky. The current iteration of Apple Music, a hastily rejigged Beats Music, is hopeless.
The Apple TV suffers from a woeful lack of non-US content and what seems to be a permanently delayed streaming TV service. Siri, Apple’s Google Now, doesn’t work with many things and is often huffy. And HomeKit, Apple’s service for the smart home, has been around for two years without many people noticing. Where Google and Amazon have more than 100 home automation partnerships in place, Apple has fewer than 20.

If you can’t beat ‘em, copy ‘em

If you tuned into Apple’s WWDC event this week you’ll have felt a major sense of deja vu. iOS is getting a more interactive lock screen, just like Android; a better photos app that resembles something beginning with “G” and ending with “google Photos”; a version of Apple Music that works pretty much like Google Play Music; some distinctly Google Now-ish features for finding points of interest; Raise to Wake, which Android has had since 1972… you get the idea. And that’s fine, because there’s a long tradition of iOS and Android copying each other’s best ideas. But that’s not the most interesting thing.
By opening Maps, Messages and Siri to third party developers, publishing APIs they can use to create their own apps and extensions, Apple is losing and winning at the same time. It’s a win because the more things that use a platform, the more attractive that platform becomes - but it’s a loss because Apple is losing some of its control. Siri currently connects to a carefully selected collection of internet services and Apple’s own apps. From later this year, it’ll be able to connect to anything. You can also be sure that whatever apps end up building on the Messages platform, they’ll be very un-Apple.
It’s a bold move for a company known for its control freakery, but it’s a necessary one: Google Now on Tap, Amazon’s Alexa, Google Maps and Nest are kicking Apple’s backside in personal digital assistants, useful map data and home automation. By keeping its platforms closed Apple hasn’t been able to benefit from the same enormous amounts of data that Google or Amazon have, and that means it’s fallen behind and will keep falling further if it doesn’t do something dramatic. And dramatic is a pretty good description of Apple’s new, more open approach.

Predictions are hard. Particularly ones about the future

Apple doesn’t need to win the war to be successful: as long as it keep selling its phones it’ll be happy. The days of rocket-powered iPhone growth are gone, but as markets become saturated Apple knows that if it can make its services more appealing it can make big bucks from those too. And don’t forget Apple Pay, the one service Apple has really done well compared to Google: later this year it hits the web and is likely to do everything the ill-fated Google Wallet didn’t.
Google isn’t really in the hardware business: it just wants everybody to use its stuff so it can harvest all that data and feed it to its learning machines while targeting ads. So far that approach has been extraordinarily successful, and there’s no reason why it won’t stay that way as the smart home and internet of things add yet more data collection points to Google’s empire.
What do you think? Is Google set to dominate the next wave of computing, with Amazon as its bitter rival? Or does Apple’s huge cash mountain and marketing machine give it an excellent chance of retaking its lead? Let us know in the comments.

China Ban iphone for copying Chinese phone - Apple news.
Trending technology news. Apple product, Iphone facing serious problem in china for copying Chinese phone. The foreign companies are dealing with extreme difficulties to do proper business in China and that too to such extent that Giant company like Apple is having a troublesome time. We have seen iTune movies and iBooks are also banned in the month of April following it Apple is being sued in China for allegedly copied the 100C smartphone.
Apple was found guilty to violate the design of a Chinese Device manufacturer that might result in the ban on iPhone 6 sales in China: said by the Chinese authority. Random Chinese company, has blamed Apple for copying the design of its 100c smartphone from Shenzhen Baili.
Beijing Intellectual Property Office has charged Apple to stop selling its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus in Beijing because the customers might not differentiate between the two handsets. However, the ban doesn’t exist in Apple’s recent models.
The Company Said Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have minor differences from Baili’s 100C. The differences are so tiny that the average customer could not notice. So this case falls into the patent rights protection category,
The Shenzhen Baili manufacturer is one of the dozens of smartphone brands which seek to profit from mobile phone growth in the emerging country. Although the decision only covers the city of Beijing, future cases against Apple could influence other disputes in China.
Apple is now trying to apply for the removal of the ban and once again take down the Chinese market. However, we have seen the previous failed attempt in China, so Apple needs a lot of luck to win this fight. Therefore, it could be anyone’s game.

Trending Technology Update:
Samsung is Google’s biggest partner when it comes to android OS. However, Samsung seems to be expanding the utilization of its Tizen OS which is typically found in some of Samsung’s TVs, wearables furthermore in some smartphones.
An anonymous company executive said to Samsung that Tizen OS had the potential to replace Android on all Samsung devices “If you don’t have your own ecosystem, then you will have no future. Tizen isn’t just a platform developed for use with mobile devices,” said by an anonymous company executive.

Samsung is planning to shift from Android to Tizen OS

While admitting that Samsung has attempted to enhance and build up its native programs, he expressed that things are improving at Samsung. The executive also stated that Samsung launched the Z series smartphone Z1 and Z3 in market to see Tizen’s performance.
The executive said “Samsung’s Z-branded Tizen-powered phones are popular with Indian consumers. During the first quarter of this year, Samsung sold about 64 million phones there. This means that Tizen is proving its competitiveness,”. The executive also said “Samsung Tizen allows developers to make corrections, if necessary, and to redistribute updates to others”
As per the reports, Samsung electronics is looking to expand the Tizen support on its Smart watches, Smart Tv’s and smart refrigerators etc. We also have seen the development of Samsung’s wearable devices which operates on Tizen.
We previously saw due to lack of app and support of developers failure of Windows 10 mobile. So the question arises here is whether Tizen OS be worth the risk of losing customers who are unwilling to switch from Android.

The government of Dubai said that it had opened on Tuesday 24, the world’s first office which was made from 3D printing as part of a local effort to increase the tourism and develop cheaper technologies. Printers which was used in both industrially and in a smaller scale to create plastic objects which are digitally designed in three dimensions. However, have not been used for construction.
World's first 3D-Printed Office

With the 250 meter square floor, the prototype building was made with a special type of cement. The printer that made the office is 6 meters high, 12 meters wide and 36 meters long, according to the local government. Construction was completed in just 17 days and costed $140,000, an investment of public administration in partnership with Dubai Future Foundation. “This is the first 3D printed office in the world: it is not just a building but has full functionality”. said the minister of internal affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed Al Gergawi.
The office will be used as temporary headquarters of the company. According to the minister of internal affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed Al Gergawi, Hence, the 3D printing technique can reduce the time of construction projects like this up to 70%, and cut 80% of spending than the traditional method would require.
According to the minister of internal affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed Al Gergawi, the estimated studies shows that the 3D printing technique can reduce the construction time from 50% to 70%, and can also cut personnel expenses by the 80% as we mentioned earlier. Moreover, the strategy of Dubai is to have at least 25% of the emirate’s buildings built by the 3D-printing technology by 2030, said the representative of the local government.

Presently Snowden is seen supporting services that offer users with a secure communications platform. He has now disclosed how to make your phone spy proof with Edward Snowden.
So, this is literally a preview of an upcoming episode of Vice in which Edward Snowden seated down to instruct us all how we can “go black” with our smartphone, meaning to safeguard that we are not spied via our cellphones or even government agencies.
However, there is now “escaping” software based exploits, in fact malware which is common in Android devices. It is apparently possible for anyone to spy on you by hearing via your device’s microphone or simply watching you through its camera.
In order to get rid of rid of easy spying, Snowden has revealed a fix for it which is quite extreme and will need some hardware skills. In the video, he is seen physically removing smartphone’s microphone and cameras in order to make it “go black.”

Although you can’t capture photo or video without a camera, however you can still make and receive calls even if the internal microphone is removed from the phone. You just need to insert headset that possesses a microphone and you are set to make and receive calls.
You must keep in mind that doing the above procedure will not secure you against someone breaking into the device and or protecting your vital files and information that you may be having in your device, they are not secure unless you disable the Bluetooth, Internet in order to combat that threat.
However, this procedure may not be applicable to most of us, as the US government and NSA is not following us like it was behind Snowden. If you want to really secure your smartphone, then these are few steps you need to follow.

Harvard Built Root Robot Teaches Children How To Code

In order to make today’s children more compelling towards coding, we should teach them how to code. It is admitted that learning coding is difficult, but the Root Robot has made coding more easier. Researchers at Harvard’s Wyss Institute have designed a Root, a robot which “brings coding to life.”

Researchers at Harvard’s Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering are behind the invention of robot called “Root”. Research Associate at the institute said “Right now, coding is taught at a computer keyboard. It’s an abstract process that doesn’t have a relationship to the real world. What Root does is bring coding to life in an extremely fun and approachable way. Kids with no experience in coding can be programming robots in a matter of minutes.”
Root is a little chunky robot, with scanners at its bottom, touch interface on its top. Root possesses a marker at the center which can draw on a whiteboard and even erase it. So, in order to teach the kids “How to code”, you just need a whiteboard, iPad including a language, that’s all.

Root can demonstrate that what coding can do in actual time, it could also develop an interest in children in this field.

“We’re in the digital world, but schools don’t teach coding. America needs computer programmers to be competitive — 71 percent of new jobs in STEM are going to be centered around coding. If we can solve this problem, this will be a big step forward for our country” robotics researcher Zivthan Dubrovsky said.

The team behind this invention is looking for partners that can introduce Root to classrooms and gradually to the world.

Root is a turtle shaped robot, which crawls on around the floors by following programs, it can draw patterns and ignore barriers. It will be programmed through tablet interface called Square. It will possess light and colour sensors, touch surface and bumpers. If successful, Root could motivate the young children to enter the coding world.

Facebook has been testing the technology for some time on its campus in California. There, the company has managed to achieve data transmission speeds exceeding 1 Gb/s (gigabit per second). The current plan is to test the transmissions in the central city of San Jose,California and then do the same in other parts of the world.
Terragraph Facebook's Wireless Network Project To Connect Dense Urban Areas1
What is the secret of Terragraph for such high speeds? Well, the project is based on a wireless technology supported by several industry giants like Samsung, Intel, Sony, and Qualcomm: WiGig.

Relatively new, this pattern can allow connections with speeds up to 7 Gb/s. Such high rates are possible, among other factors, due to the frequency of 60 GHz WiGig. In contrast, this frequency has a serious limitation: it is easily susceptible to blocking by obstacles – it’s very difficult to make the signal through walls, for example.

To overcome this problem, Facebook wants to combine the WiGig other ideas. One is the integration of technology with a network management software developed by Facebook and able to distribute the smart way data traffic to avoid overload or bottlenecks.

Another plan is the distribution of multiple antennas or small signal transmission points across the city. As they can stay in lampposts and traffic lights, for example. The purpose is to leave the antennas in close proximity to each other, with the distances between 200 and 250 meters, the maximum distance supported by WiGig.

Terragraph Facebook's Wireless Network Project To Connect Dense Urban Areas2
Facebook did not detail how the signal provided by the network may be taken to the interior of buildings and homes, but this does not seem to be a difficult problem to solve: we can think of receivers connected by cable to the router to an internal Wi-Fi network.

Difficulty even Facebook will have to decrease the risk of instability in the transmissions. Trucks, buses and even large clumps of cars can interfere with the signal. Ben Zhao, networks reaching expert at the University of California, explained to the MIT Technology Review that the antennas have to “crawl” very precisely the devices connected to that type of problems do not occur.

If we consider the dynamics that urban centers have, this is a big challenge, but the smart antennas distribution should help with this. Anyway, the next rounds of testing will tell if Facebook will succeed with Terragraph. It is the company’s intentions to monetize this technology, not directly.

If the project is successful, the Terragraph must be licensed for free to suppliers and other companies in the industry. By making viable high-speed networks, Facebook can bring more people to their services or even expand its segments, as the company is very focused on virtual reality. Even rural areas are being considered.
Another connectivity project that Facebook addressed the F8 is the ARIES (Antenna Radio Integration for Efficiency in Spectrum) technology, which promises to take broadcasts from urban areas to surrounding points that are at a distance of up to 40 kilometers.

In short, Project ARIES is a broadcast platform that, at this stage, works with 96 antennas to increase by up to ten times the energy and spectral efficiency of conventional 4G networks. This is also a very challenging initiative, after all, all the work is being done with a focus on a very ambitious goal: ARIES have to work without, however, require large expenditures with its implementation.

A man accidently deleted his entire company by typing one line of wrong code. Hosting provider, Marco Marsala while discussing at forum for server experts said that he had accidentally typed a code which had killed his entire details from the server via his personal computer. According to experts, Marsala had accidently wiped out the data of his company including its customers, and there is no method to recover the data.

Man Typed One Line Of Wrong Code Which Resulted in The Deletion of His Entire Company

Marsala had posted query on a forum for server experts namely Server Fault, he posted that his all servers got deleted including offsite backups, and he was seeking help to recover it.

The command which resulted in the deletion of his entire company was “rm-rf”. For reference, ‘rm’ literally means “to remove” whereas “r” means to delete all things within given directory and “f” means “force”. These commands direct the computer to snub the warnings that usually come while deleting files. These codes direct the computer to delete everything, same happened with Marsala.

“I run a small hosting provider with more or less 1535 customers and I use Ansible to automate some operations to be run on all servers. Last night I accidentally ran, on all servers, a Bash script with a rm -rf {foo}/{bar} with those variables undefined due to a bug in the code above this line” posted Marsala.

Marsala also said that due to this code all of the backups were deleted as the drives which were backing up the computers were attached to it, so as a result computer also deleted the backup too.

“All servers got deleted and the offsite backups too because the remote storage was mounted just before by the same script (that is a backup maintenance script)” he posted.

We have mentioned some answers where the users said that there may not be any chance for Marsala to recover the data of his company.

“I feel sorry to say that your company is now essentially dead. You might have an extremely slim chance to recover from this if you turn off everything right now and hand your disks over to a reputable data recovery company. This will be extremely expensive and still extremely unlikely to really rescue you, and it will take a lot of time” answered a user namely Sven.

“If you really don’t have any backups I am sorry to say but you just nuked your entire company.” wrote a user namely André Borie.

“You’re going out of business. You don’t need technical advice, you need to call your lawyer”. wrote a user namely Michael Hampton.

This shows how the single line code of code resulted in the deletion of entire company, even that code managed to delete backup from his computer.

Seibu Railway Co. is a Japanese company based in Tokorozwa, Saitama Japan. It’s business include in railways, tourism and real estate. The company’s railway operations are in the northwest Tokyo and Saitama prefecture.

The invisible train is being designed by architect, Kazuyo Sejima from the Japanese firm Sanaa who was recently awarded “Nobel Prize of architecture”, however train will not be completely visible but “super reflective”. The train train primarily mixes into its surrounding by reflecting them off its flawless mirrored surfaces.
Even more interesting thing about this train is that, this design can be put in the already built and existing trains. The Seibu Railway Co. has granted Sejima permit to refurbish both the inner and outer side of the Red Arrow express commuter train for its 100th anniversary.

When it comes to design, the Red Arrow commuter train train is said to be coated with  “a semi-reflective surface”. Moreover, the travellers while sitting in the train will feel like resting in a living room. As of now, the exterior of the train is believed to be replaced with semi transparent mirrored panels. However, the effects of this train seems to not have been discussed now, and may be discussed later.

The invisible train is believed to come in 2018, and it is said to come with seven-eight car trains. It will be spread over 178 kms across Japan. It’s route will be via various topographies including mountains of Chichibu, Tokyo etc. The vehicles will be developed by Hitachi [which makes 200 mph Shinkansen trains in Japan].

Is It Worth Switching To iPhone SE

Recently Apple introduced a new iPhone, iPhone SE which was unexpected from the company, as we are used to seeing the new iPhone in the second half of the year. However, the iPhone SE is not the flagship team member of the company, though it has certain similar to the iPhone 6s specifications, but, has some differences, such as size, front camera, the Touch ID and lack of 3D Touch.

If you like Apple and you are tempted to buy the new iPhone SE, we will accompany you in this reflection, though the company has the cheapest iPhone done to date, it is still a great investment. The iPhone SE has the same design as the iPhone 5s, but its interior is more powerful than iPhone 5s.

If I have an iPhone 5s, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s or iPhone 4, is it worth switching to iPhone SE?

Let’s start with users of older devices. First, if you have an iPhone 4 you should be thinking about changing your device. As we all know that this device supports only up to iOS 7 because from the launch of iOS 8 in 2014 ran out support for updates. Also, if you have an iPhone 4 and have not changed the battery, it is likely that at this point the device is crying.

The iPhone SE is very similar to the iPhone 5 and 5s form and, therefore, users of small Apple devices will not notice much difference in size. But users will notice changes in performance because this series (iPhone SE) of iPhone is accompanied with the A9 processor (the same as the iPhone 6s) and 2 GB of RAM, which makes it a very powerful device.

As for the camera, the company has done several improvements in the back chamber which will notify the users of iPhone 4, iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 & 5s. The camera also records video at 4K resolution, as the iPhone 6s does and they are the only ones that have this feature. So, if you have an iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 4s or iPhone 4 the answer is yes, it will be a good idea to change your old iPhone for iPhone SE.

If I have an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s, is it worth switching to new iPhone SE?

Yes, the question seems uneaten and very easy to answer. Of course, if you have the new iPhone 6s, then the answer is no. As the iPhone 6s, has better performance, battery life, has a better front camera, 3D Touch and has a Touch ID button which respond more quickly. Moreover, it is very likely that if you’re using any of the two devices (iPhone 6s and 6s Plus), and you get used to the new iPhone SE and return to 4 inches, it will be very complicated to use the device, especially in the early days.

On the other hand, if you have the iPhone 6 (or 6 Plus) it may worth switching to iPhone SE. As the new device, iPhone SE comes with better performance and rear camera, but this doesn’t seem to be a strong reason to purchase. So, under this scenario it would be better idea to simply wait for the next iPhone.
