Reports are claiming that Apple is currently working to develop strong security for its iPhones which could make difficult for the government to hack them.
Experts claim that if Apple successfully improves its security and can improve it, they can set an example for technical challenge for the government agencies even if the American Government wins the case to access the data in the iPhone 5C of the San Bernardino shooter. Also, if FBI wants to break into the iPhone in future, it will have to discover new technique for doing it, stated NYtimes.
Senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, Benjamin Wittes said that “We are in for an arms race unless and until Congress decides to clarify who has what obligations in situations like this,”.
Companies are always keen to search for “Software bugs” and “Patched Holes” in order keep their code safe from hackers. Computer professional, Edward Snowden disclosed the government’s intelligence to the public, and companies are rebuilding their products in order to protect it from infringement as quoted by NYtimes.
NYtimes stated that “Apple considers security as a worldwide marketing approach. Apple is taking new security steps in order to battle with government. Also, this new security approach will also encourage investors and the users”.
FBI’s Director, James Comey said that “We simply want the chance, with a search warrant, to try to guess the terrorist’s passcode without the phone essentially self-destructing and without it taking a decade to guess correctly. That’s it. We don’t want to break anyone’s encryption or set a master key loose on the land.”
Apple also has got support in encryption battle from various reputed companies like Google, Facebook and others.
